Celtic Spiral Design Pendant $20.99
The
Celtic Spiral Designs are first known to have been used by the Celts. Though Celtic Spirals were being created in pre-Christian times, these knots are most known for their use in the ornamentation of Christian monuments and manuscripts like the 8th century Book of Kells.
The Celts themselves left very little in the way of records, and most symbols are interpreted by archaeologists and other scholars who study the symbols in context. Some ancient Celtic symbols have changed in meaning over time, having been influenced by the introduction of Christianity and the influence of other cultures.
The Celtic Spiral Design was a sacred symbol to the Celtic peoples. It demonstrated the eternal rhythm of life of which we are all a part. This ancient design adorning their most sacred places represents the trinity of life in it’s many forms, such as body, mind and spirit. Most significantly, it represents the Goddess in her forms of Maiden, Mother, and Crone.
The Celtic Spiral Design Pendant is double sided and made of Excelsior Pewter. Comes with a 34" cord, accent bead and booklet. 1 1/4" in diameter.
